Special Entry

Why is this blog entry so special? Well, because it's Buddy Foote's Blog v.2's 400th blog entry! The blog will be two years old come July 24, so we have accomplished at least 400 entries in less than a two year period of time. Yes, the blog has had long periods of inactivity and the fact that we have five blog authors also contributed to the mass boom of entries, but do you know what I have to say? "We need to do better." Starting this summer, as I stated in the blog entry before 'Aeron and Foote #1', I have composed a to-do list that us here at BFBv.2 need to carry out. I just hope that the blog writers here, including myself, have the utmost motivation to post as much as possible. However, quality over quantity, so one large entry twice a week may equal five entries created throughout the week. As far as I know, Joey and Jenifer may be the only "handicapped" writers, as they either don't have access to the internet or the website. Caitlin, Chase, and I have no excuses, unless, of course, a negative situation comes about.

Just to refresh your memory, a new feature at BFBv.2 is going to come out. Well, not as any interactive activity that you can carry out (however, I am going to be making a crossword at least once a week, and I'm always on the lookout for new additions) but instead a feature that will be included in the author 's blog entries. The feature is known as a follow-up entry. What occurs is that if an author is interested in writing such an entry, they can go throughout the blog, pick at any entry that they want, and write anything about it -- with a link provided to the original entry of course. The author can write what the think about the entry, review it, be critical of it, destroy it in every way, shape, and form, or just write a follow-up of it, meaning that you relate the topic of the entry to yourself in the current time period. People change, and so do opinions.

Why is this entry feature interesting. First, it brings back old and forgotten entries that need to be reborn. Second, it creates a modern day interpretation of the entry. For example, I remember back in the day, I was ranting about the whole Hot Coffee controversy that has been going on. I was angered over the events that took place over a bunch of pixels doing natural things in a video game, but in today's world, I may feel differently. Maybe I feel now that the actions were appropriate and it was right for the "higher powers" to put stricter limits on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Maybe I feel the same way. You may have to wait until I do a follow-up on that entry until you get an answer from me though. And third, it may aid in grabbing more readers of the blog. If a random viewer pops up and sees something known as a follow-up entry, read it, and then see the link at the bottom linking to the original post, they'll probably want to look into it further and see what made the original so good, bad, or just ugly.

We may also be seeing a new layout. Does black and silver mix well?

I'm at school now in my last computer class, doing nothing at all. If the school computers blocked Blogger, I would probably be sitting here falling asleep reading Wikipedia articles or the book my friend let be borrow, "Fight Club". So that also makes this entry special. One of the last days of school and an entry being composed on it. Gah, I just wish summer came already. I only have one more final, and I'm not coming to school tomorrow as I have no finals.

I'm dead tired now, so have a good one.
